Tetra Tech will oversee construction at PortMiami dredging

Tetra Tech Inc. won a $20 million contract, with option years for an additional $3.5 million, with the Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company LLC to perform environmental management services and provide construction oversight during dredging operations at the Port of Miami.

Tetra Tech’s scientists will provide environmental management and quality control oversight for the transplantation of seagrasses, relocation of corals, and monitoring of existing seagrass beds, coral reefs and sediment during the underwater construction, Dredging Today reported.

Tetra Tech’s engineers will also subcontract and manage the construction of new artificial reefs and seagrass beds created from the dredged material, the web site said.
