Port Everglades in Broward County

Port Everglades, the Broward County seaport, has proposed a $24 million upgrade to one of its cruise terminals.

Renovations would run from March to November. The terminal is slated to be ready for cruise season by the late fall. The project would provide cruise terminal 4 with covered ground transportation zones, 172 more parking spots, 50 check-in counters and new bathrooms.

A separate Everglades project, involving the extension of Slip 2 to hold bigger cruise ships, will cost about $18 million.
