Franklyn DeMarco at Ta-boo
A co-owner of Ta-boo, a legendary Palm Beach restaurant and bar, is being accused of sexually harassing female employees of a Nantucket yacht club, according to a complaint filed by the club’s spa director with Massachusetts authorities.
The case names Franklyn DeMarco, the co-owner of the famed Ta-boo restaurant on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue, former Great Harbor commodore Lou Gerstner and ex-Morgan Stanley trader Olav Refnik.
The “Palm Beach legend” has been a haven for the likes of John F. Kennedy, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Rod Stewart and novelist James Patterson, according to the restaurant’s web site.
Stacey Fader, the alleged victim, says in the complaint that DeMarco groped her repeatedly. DeMarco was suspended from club activities for a year but resumed his activities upon reentering the club, the web site Gossip Extra reported. [Gossip Extra] — Emily Schmall
