Ft. Lauderdale reality show pawn shop closes

Former "Pawnfellas" store

A Fort Lauderdale pawn shop that was supposed to be part of a reality television show called “Pawnfellas” has closed.

The 3302 Northeast 33rd Street store was shut down in early December, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Filming of “Pawnfellas” was supposed to begin in November but never did after a salary dispute arose between the production company and two of the actors. The cast was expected to include former “The Sopranos” stars Vincent Pastore and Frank Vincent.

Producer Walter Shaw, a self-described “former jewel thief,” did not disclose which actors wanted more compensation. The Fort Lauderdale store would have been used for buying and selling jewelry, movie memorabilia and other goods. [Sun-Sentinel]Eric Kalis
