H. Wayne Huizenga and 516 Mola Avenue
A waterfront Fort Lauderdale property once owned by former Miami Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga is getting prepped for the construction of two high-end homes.
The 516 Mola Avenue parcel is currently owned by a group that is taking initial steps to develop it, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Former dairy farmer Hank Pownall is part of the ownership group, which has cleared the property and is about to install a new seawall and relocate utilities underground. The broker marketing the property expects two residences to be constructed and priced between $12 million and $18 million.
Huizenga transferred ownership of a six-bedroom home, known as Casa di Fiore, on the property to a company he held a stake in five years ago. He eventually disposed of his share of that company, which sold the home for $6.4 million to the current owners in June. [Sun-Sentinel] — Eric Kalis
