A 24-year-old party promoter bought a penthouse at the Mondrian with a private rooftop terrace for $1.95 million, a record price per square foot for South Beach’s Biscayne Bay-facing West Avenue.

Within 24 hours of watching an online video of the property, Daniel Deshe offered cash for the 1,196-square-foot penthouse at a price of $1,630 per square foot, several times the value of the last West Ave. record, $563 per square foot for a unit at Bentley Bay earlier this year.

The sale closed in 12 days, according to broker Eddie Jaber of RESF in Coral Gables, who represented the seller, a Hong Kong-based hedge fund.

“He found one of the videos and sent it over to his broker, who is also his godfather, and they submitted a bid within 24 hours,” Jaber told The Real Deal.
