New web site will track new condo projects

logo The Miami-based Condo Vultures consultancy led by broker and former journalist Peter Zalewski launched a web site Friday that tracks new condo development in South Florida.

Cranspotters compares the 146 condo towers planned for South Florida by some 200 metrics, including financing arrangements, prices and building contractors. Though 146 towers have already been proposed, Zalewski says the region’s pre-construction boom will really kick off in October.

“When you go into a car dealership, you’re only looking at one brand, but when you go to Best Buy, you’ve got all the computers lined up. They want to be car salesmen, we want to be Best Buy,” Zalewski told The Real Deal.

Zalewski claims Condo Vultures approached brokers and developers, and relied on public information filed to local planning and zoning departments, to build the site.“This is good for us, too, because we can find out what the competition’s doing,” said
