South Florida developer R. Donahue Peebles plans to build a 16-story luxury high rise condo just south of the Canyon Ranch resort and condos in Miami Beach, according to the Condo Vultures consultancy.

An affiliate of Coral Gables-based Peebles Corp., one of the largest African-American-owned real estate development companies in the U.S., has proposed building up to 16 stories with just 13 units at 6767 Collins Ave. on the Atlantic Ocean in Miami Beach, Condo Vultures principal Peter Zalewski said Tuesday.

The project will hardly dent the pile of nearly 20,000 condo units in the South Florida pipeline. Ten towers with nearly 1,100 units are planned for Miami Beach alone, according to Condo Vultures.

A two-story, 10,000-square-foot penthouse and two oceanfront villas will be on offer with basic units at 5,620 square feet.
