Villa del Mare and Lawrence Stroll

The former chairman of Campbell’s Soup has sold a Fisher Island condo for $13.5 million to a company tied to Canadian fashion mogul Lawrence Stroll, The Real Deal has learned.

George Sherman and his wife Betsy sold the Villa del Mare unit on Friday, according to Miami-Dade County records. The transaction was recorded Monday. The couple paid $6.5 million for the four-bedroom, 6,170-square-foot condo at 7292 Fisher Island Drive in July 2001.

Montague Properties #2 of New York is the buyer. Approval documents from the community association identify Stroll as the true buyer. Stroll became a billionaire after he and partner Silas Chou took prominent fashion brand Michael Kors public three years ago.

No financing was recorded.

The Shermans still own a smaller Fisher Island condo and a mansion at 30 La Gorce Circle in Miami Beach, according to county records.
