The Raleigh hosts Louis Vuitton’s beach house exhibit

As part of Miami Art Week, French fashion house Louis Vuitton built a replica of a beach house that architect Charlotte Perriand designed but was never created.

The exhibit, “La Maison au bord de l’eau,” runs through Sunday at the Raleigh hotel at 1775 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Perriand’s daughter Pernette Perriand-Barsac commissioned to have it built.

Perriand conceived of the designs in 1934 for an architecture magazine contest. It took second place and therefore was not built. [NYDN]Mark Maurer
