Developers Terra Group and The Related Group are counting on Art Basel Miami Beach to help generate momentum for their high-rise project in Coconut Grove.
Terra and Related ran a design competition for the planned high-rise tower on 5.4 waterfront acres in the Grove, New York Times reported. The renderings from four teams of architects are to be displayed in an exhibition called “Four (4): New Visions for Living in Miami” at the DesignMiami tent. The winning design by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture/Rem Koolhaas (or OMA) has already been chosen, but all four entries will be unveiled at the exhibition.
Architects Ateliers Jean Nouvel, Christian de Portzamparc and Diller Scofidio & Renfro all submitted renderings. OMA designed six skinny high-rise towers with floor-to-ceiling glass and unobstructed water views. [New York Times] — Eric Kalis
