After a staff recommendation today to kill a massive development project, the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency is likely to follow suit.

Davis Camalier of One Boynton LLC had been developing two mixed-use towers, a hotel an office space for Delray Beach-based law firm Kanner & Pintaluga at 222 North Federal Highway, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

“All parties are too far apart in their expectations of what they want to occur,” CRA Executive Director Vivian Brooks said in a statement.

Camalier paid $9 million in 2005 for the land next to the property that the CRA owns. The CRA offered to pay Camalier $2.5 million for his land, which he rejected. The law firm wanted 400 parking spaces, which would cost the CRA $8.6 million.

If the location will not used for the project, CRA staff plan to have a 200-room hotel arrive instead. [Sun-Sentinel]Mark Maurer
